Notes provided by Father Bill Allen;
`My cousin Margaret Bruder, whom I mentioned before, told me that Granpa 
Allen`s father [William Allen`s father Thomas ] was a non-Catholic, and 
converted to the Catholic Church on his deathbed.  His wife, who was Catholic, 
had to keep it a secret till after his funeral in the Protestant Church.  His 
family,(the Allens) were staunch Protestants and not favorable towards the 
Catholic Church.  I would tend to think that the Allen branch came from England 
or Scotland while the McCrea`s would have come over from Ireland during the 
Potato famine in the 1800s.`  `Grandpa and Grandma Allen are buried with some 
of their relatives in Prescott.  There is no Allen tombstone.  It took me some 
time to find their graves when I was there a few years ago.`
